From my very first job at a local nursery, transplanting and watering seedlings, to my days as a 4-H youth tending my own garden, I've always been drawn to the world of plants. While my initial career unfolded in biotech (not as unrelated as one might think – there's a surprising abundance of microbes and chemistry in soils!), I decided I wanted horticulture to become more than my hobby.
At Merritt College, I delved into landscape maintenance and design, with a specialized focus on arboriculture. This is where my knowledge of tree biology, pruning techniques, horticultural pests and diseases, and soil intricacies flourished. Additionally, I earned a Permaculture Design Certificate from the Urban Permaculture Institute of San Francisco, enriching my approach to landscaping with a holistic perspective. Fueled by a profound interest in urban ecology and the harmonious intersection of human habitats and nature, I'm a member of both the California Native Plant Society and the International Society of Arboriculture.
My goal is to transform your garden into a haven where beauty envelops you, and nature serves as a wellspring of restoration and connection. Together, let's cultivate a garden that authentically reflects your essence and brings the enduring beauty of nature right to your doorstep.
